Shiraz is known as the city of Poets and literature and is the home to the tombs of Hafez and Sa’adi, two great Persian poets. It is also home to splendid Persian gardens, beautiful mosques and UNESCO listed palace complex, Persepolis.


This ancient city is one of the most attractive cities in Iran. Shiraz is mentioned in Elamite inscriptions from 2000 BC and was an important regional center under Sassanid. It became Iran’s capital during Zand dynasty in 1747 after death of last king of Safavid Dynasty in Isfahan.
